Meet the Team
*Tara Forgeron, Registered Psychologist*: Tara is a full-time psychologist and the owner of Tara Forgeron Psychology & Associates Inc. She obtained her Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto and has been providing psychological services in Nova Scotia for over a decade. Tara works with adults facing a variety of mental health concerns and is passionate about inspiring her clients to live a full and meaningful life. She draws from Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches and emphasizes the importance of self-responsibility and empowerment in the therapeutic process. Tara uses a holistic approach to mental health and wellness and often incorporates mindfulness training, guided imagery, relaxation, goal setting, lifestyle recommendations, and mind-body connection awareness into her sessions.
*Shauna Sutherland, Registered Psychologist*: Shauna is a full-time psychologist who received her Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of New Brunswick. She has experience working with diverse populations across various settings and specializes in working with adults using a therapeutic approach that combines western psychology with eastern-based philosophies, such as ACT and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Shauna helps her clients learn to relate differently to distressing emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations rather than trying to eliminate them. She believes that learning to provide oneself with patience, compassion, and forgiveness is crucial during challenging times and aims to create a collaborative and supportive environment for her clients.

*Groups*: We offer group therapy sessions focused on building skills and increasing well-being. Our group offerings may include mindfulness, ACT, and MBCT groups as well as other specialized groups.
*Fees*: Our fees are consistent with the recommended rates set by the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology. We are committed to making our services accessible and offer a sliding fee scale for those who qualify.
