Making Safety Simpler, One Job Site at a Time

The British Columbia Construction Safety Association (BCCSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and improving workplace health and safety in the construction industry. We believe that a safe and healthy work environment is essential for the well-being of our members, their employees, and the communities we serve. Our organization is committed to providing a range of programs, services, and resources to support employers and workers in their efforts to prevent injuries and illnesses.

Our Programs

At the BCCSA, we offer a variety of programs designed to address different aspects of workplace safety. Our programs are designed to be comprehensive, practical, and easy to implement, with the goal of helping employers and workers to reduce the risk of accidents and illnesses.

One of our primary programs is the COR (Certificate of Recognition) Program. This voluntary employer certification program is designed to motivate employers to take a proactive role in occupational health and safety. Employers who participate in the COR Program must implement an effective OHSMS (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) and undergo a certification audit. If successful, they will be issued a COR certificate, which recognizes their commitment to workplace safety.

We also offer the NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) and NHSA (National Health & Safety Administrator) Designation Program. This program delivers practical training in construction safety management skills and principles, providing individuals with a nationally recognized level of competency.

In addition, we offer the TCP (Traffic Control Person) Program, which is British Columbia's most established training program for traffic control. Our program provides courses for both individuals new to traffic control and those seeking renewal.

Training and Resources

At the BCCSA, we believe that education and training are essential for promoting workplace safety. That's why we offer a range of training programs and resources to support employers and workers.

Our training programs are designed to be practical and easy to implement, with the goal of helping employers and workers to reduce the risk of accidents and illnesses. Our programs cover a range of topics, including construction safety management, traffic control, and asbestos management.

Injury Management and Services

We also offer a range of services to support employers and workers in the event of an injury or illness. Our injury management services provide employers with the tools and resources they need to manage worker injuries and illnesses, including hands-on assistance and health and safety committee support.

Health and Safety Materials and Events

In addition to our programs and services, we also provide a range of health and safety materials and events to support employers and workers. Our materials include everything from safety posters and stickers to training manuals and hazard assessment templates. Our events include conferences, training sessions, and networking opportunities, all designed to promote workplace safety and well-being.
