Founded by siblings Meade, Jan, and Joel Gougeon in 1969, GBI has been a leader in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of high-performance epoxy systems for marine, industrial, and commercial applications. Our headquarters are located in Bay City, Michigan, and we are proud to be an employee-owned, family-run business.

History

GBI's history is deeply rooted in the marine industry. The Gougeon brothers began their careers as sailboat builders, and they quickly realized the need for a versatile and high-quality epoxy that could withstand the harsh conditions of the marine environment. In response, they started formulating their own epoxy systems in the late 1960s, eventually founding GBI in 1969. Over the years, GBI has continued to develop and refine its epoxy systems, earning a reputation as the leader in marine epoxy technology.
