The Lac La Biche Agricultural Society is a vibrant and dynamic organization that has been serving the community for over four decades. Our mission is to promote awareness and understanding of agriculture's vital role in the community, while being respectful of a diverse heritage with a progressive focus on innovation for the future.

Our Services

The Lac La Biche Agricultural Society provides a wide range of services to the community, including an annual agricultural exhibition, educational events and courses on agricultural topics, scholarships to students pursuing higher education in an agricultural field, and opportunities for artisans to display and market their products. We also offer use of our beautiful and unique event facilities, including a rental hall with a stage for entertainers, a buffet alcove, and large bar/concession area. Our outdoor facilities are equally impressive, with patios, a concession area, and large commercial barbeques perfect for summertime events. We also have an outdoor covered pavilion and riding ring available for rental.

Our History

Our organization has a rich and proud history in Lac La Biche County, dating back to December 19, 1973, when we were registered under the Agricultural Societies Act. From humble beginnings with no building and no money, we have grown and evolved over the years through the hard work and dedication of hundreds of volunteers. We have undergone several transformations, including a major fundraising campaign in the late 1990s and early 2000s, which enabled us to purchase 32 acres of land and erect an outdoor riding arena. Our Lakeland Agricom building was completed in 2005, and we have continued to expand and improve our facilities since then.

Our Objectives

Our objectives and goals are to encourage improvement in agriculture, horticulture, and the equality of family life in the community by developing programs, services, and facilities based on the needs of both the rural and urban community. We strive to sponsor an annual exhibition, educational events and courses on agricultural topics, provide scholarships to students pursuing higher education in an agricultural field, and provide opportunities for artisans to display and market their products.
