With a strong presence in the Maritime provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, our organization is committed to providing high-quality karate instruction to students of all ages and skill levels.

Our Services

We offer a range of services and programs designed to meet the needs of students at every level. From beginner classes to advanced training, our instructors provide expert guidance and instruction in the art of Shotokan Karate. Our services include:

• Traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate classes for children and adults
• Clinics and rank exams with IKD qualified international masters
• Annual regional, national, and international events, including tournaments, camps, and seminars
• Black Belt Club for advanced students
• Karate apps and online resources for learning and practice

Our Instructors

Our instructors are all experienced Black Belts, including Masters and Kenshusei, who have undergone rigorous training and certification through the International Karate Daigaku. They are dedicated to providing expert instruction and guidance to students of all levels. Our chief instructors, Shihan David Pyke and Shihan Janice Pyke, are highly respected Masters in the IKD and have many years of experience in teaching and promoting Shotokan Karate.

The Maritime IKD was one of the first regions to join the International Karate Daigaku (College) in 2011. Since then, we have grown to become a leading martial arts organization in the Maritime provinces. Our affiliation with the IKD provides us with access to a global network of instructors and resources, ensuring that our students receive the highest level of training and instruction.
