Happy Land Campground is a 5-star Big Rig Destination Park located in Thunder Bay and Kakabeka Falls, Ontario, Canada. We have been owned and operated by the Altmann family for 55 years, and we take pride in running a clean, quiet, and well-supervised park. Our campers who have experienced the quality of our park return time and time again to stay with us while in the Thunder Bay area.
Our Story
We are situated on Hwy. 11/17, just 16 miles West of Thunder Bay and 1 1/2 miles East of Kakabeka Falls. Our park is conveniently located near the Village of Kakabeka Falls, which is only a half mile away, offering easy access to a grocery store, restaurants, service stations, liquor store, post office, hair salons, churches, and more. The city of Thunder Bay is also just 16 miles away, providing endless opportunities to explore its many attractions.
Our Services
At Happy Land Campground, we offer a range of services to make your stay with us comfortable and enjoyable. Our campsites include Basic Sites, Electric Only Sites, Full Hook-up Sites, and 50 amp Sites, all of which are equipped with Wi-Fi internet access. We also have cabins available for rent, perfect for those who want a more luxurious camping experience. Our park is equipped with modern amenities, including wireless internet, a convenience store, and a laundry facility.
What to Do
Thunder Bay has plenty of attractions to choose from, including Fort William Historical Park, the world's largest fur trading post, and Kakabeka Falls, the "Niagara of the North", which is just a mere one and a half miles from our park. Other attractions in the area include the Amethyst mines, the Terry Fox Lookout, and Ouimet Canyon. We also offer walking trails and scenic views of the surrounding area.
