At Stepping Stones Day Care Society (SSDCS), we are more than just a day care - we are a community-driven organization dedicated to providing high-quality childcare services and support to families in the Northwest Region of Alberta. Our mission is to be a partner in advocating for high-quality childcare for the betterment of children and families in our region.

Our Services

We offer a range of programs and services designed to support the growth and development of children and families. Our Day Care Program is designed to ensure children feel safe, secure, and comfortable while in our care. Our Day Home Program provides quality care in a home environment, maintaining licensing to ensure the highest standards of care.

In addition to these core programs, we offer specialized services to support children with diverse needs. Our Inclusive Child Care program helps ensure the inclusion of young children, allowing them to achieve their full developmental and learning potential. Our Supports to Early Learning program partners with families and caregivers to provide guidance and resources for optimal child development.

We also offer Respite Care, a program designed to provide support to at-risk families who need help in their child-rearing roles. This program provides respite care in a licensed childcare setting, giving families a much-needed break and helping to alleviate stress and pressure.

What sets us apart from other childcare providers is our commitment to family support, quality care, and community involvement. We are government-regulated, allowing us to access subsidy and government assistance agencies to support more families in need. Each of our team members is qualified in working with children, providing a safe and active learning environment tailored to each child's unique needs.

Our community-minded approach means we are supported and funded by the community, allowing us to give back in any way we can. We believe in showing our appreciation to our generous families and local charities, recognizing the importance of their support in our mission.

Our Programs

We are proud to offer several programs that have been developed to support the growth and development of children and families. Our Positively Me! program for girls aged 9-12 focuses on building self-esteem, confidence, and understanding of oneself and others. We have received tremendous feedback from participants and their parents regarding the positive impact of this program.

We are currently seeking funding to launch our equivalent Boys Strong program, recognizing the importance of addressing the unique challenges faced by young men during adolescence. This program will provide young boys with the tools they need to accept their inner strength and promote positivity in their peers.
