The Westlock Child Care Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality child care services to the communities of Westlock, Barrhead, and surrounding areas. We operate three fully-licensed programs, including Day Care, Day Homes, and Out-of-School Care programs, all of which are designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children to learn and grow.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is centered around providing high-quality early learning childcare programs that build relationships with families and support children's physical, social, emotional, creative, and cognitive growth. We believe that children are citizens, explorers, researchers, inventors, and Mighty Learners, and we strive to create programs that are adaptable and unique to each child's needs, background, and parent preference. Our holistic play-based goals are aligned with the Curriculum Framework for Alberta, Flight, and we are committed to building capacity in our staff to learn and work alongside children during the most formative years of their lives.
Our History
The Westlock Child Care Society was formed in 1980 and was registered as a non-profit organization under the Societies Act. Originally, our services included the Day Care Centre with an integrated special needs program and the Satellite Family Day Homes program. Over the years, our services have expanded to include Out-of-School Care programs, and we continue to grow and adapt to meet the changing needs of the communities we serve.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs designed to support children and families, including:
- Day Care: Our Day Care program provides a safe and engaging environment for children aged 0-6, with a focus on play-based learning and exploration.
