Luke's Place is a leading non-profit organization in Ontario dedicated to improving the safety and experience of women and their children as they navigate the complexities of family law after escaping abuse. Founded in memory of little Luke, who tragically lost his life due to domestic violence, our mission is to ensure that no woman or child has to endure such suffering.

• Personalized legal guidance and advocacy in family and court matters
• Access to vital legal information sessions
• Assistance navigating the complexities of Family Court & Beyond

Specialized Training and Resources

• Specialized training programs for service providers, lawyers, and Legal Aid Ontario staff to enhance their understanding of family law and its application in cases of abuse
• Development of online resources and tools specifically for survivors

Research & Advocacy

• Conducting research and advocating for improved access to justice for women and children subjected to violence.
• Collaborating with academics, policymakers, and stakeholders to implement systemic change.

A Centre of Excellence

Luke's Place stands out as the only stand-alone family law support centre of excellence for abused women in Canada. We are recognized for our expertise, compassionate approach, and impactful interventions. We are proud to have:

• Developed the acclaimed Family Court Support Worker (FCSW) program, emulated by other jurisdictions.
• Trained hundreds of lawyers and legal aid staff across Ontario.
• Strengthened the safety and agency of countless survivors through our comprehensive services.

Inspired by the tragic loss of young Luke, we were born out of the collective desire to empower survivors and prevent future tragedies. Guided by values of empathy, empowerment, and justice, we remain dedicated to providing support and fostering lasting change in the lives of those we serve.
