Welcome to the law practice of Adrian R. Cleaver, a trusted source for legal counsel and representation in Pembroke and the surrounding areas. With over twenty years of experience serving clients in Renfrew County, Mr. Cleaver has built a reputation for providing knowledgeable and effective assistance in a range of legal areas.

As a graduate of Carleton University and the University of Ottawa Law School, Mr. Cleaver is well-versed in the complexities of the Canadian legal system. He has served as president of both the Renfrew County Law Association and the Renfrew County Defence Lawyers Association, and is currently a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and the Ontario Bar Association. In addition, Mr. Cleaver acts as a part-time Crown Attorney for the Ministry of the Attorney General, giving him unique insight into the workings of the prosecution's office.

Mr. Cleaver's practice includes criminal law and residential real estate. He appears in courts in Pembroke, Renfrew, and Killaloe, and has extensive experience representing clients facing a wide range of criminal charges. From impaired driving and assaults to property offences, sexual offences, and drug offences, Mr. Cleaver has the knowledge and skills to provide strong and effective defence. He also represents clients in military relocation services and member drug prosecutions.

In addition to his criminal defence practice, Mr. Cleaver assists clients with residential real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and mortgages. He is pleased to offer a range of payment options for his clients, including credit and debit card payments.

Unbundled Legal Services

Mr. Cleaver is part of the recent movement in the legal profession to "unbundle" legal services, which means that he is prepared to accept limited retainers in cases where someone either doesn't need, or can't afford, full representation in a legal proceeding. This allows clients to receive the specific legal assistance they need at a price that is tailored to their budget. For example, if you are charged with a Provincial Offences Act offence that carries a fine of $500 as a maximum punishment, it may not make sense to pay a lawyer $1000 or more to take the matter to trial for you. But if you wish to get an opinion on the merits of your case, Mr. Cleaver would be happy to accept a limited retainer from you and provide advice on your case.
