Our Team
Our team is led by Dr. Howard Steiman, who has been practicing orthodontics for over 30 years. Dr. Steiman is dedicated to providing exceptional orthodontic care while creating a fun, friendly, and relaxed dental environment. He genuinely cares about each patient and treats every patient as if they were his own child, sibling, or parent. Dr. Steiman graduated from the University of Toronto in 1984 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Biochemistry. He continued his education at the University of Toronto, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1988 and his diploma in Orthodontics in 1991.
Dr. Steiman has published clinical papers in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, co-written an Orthodontic Training Module Course for Dental Assistants, and has received numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions to the field of orthodontics. These awards include the Ontario Association of Orthodontists' Distinguished Service Award, the Fellowship in the American College of Dentists, and the Award of Merit from the Canadian Association of Orthodontics.

Treatment for Children & Adults
At Steiman Smiles Orthodontics, we believe that orthodontic treatment can benefit patients of all ages. We recommend that children be examined by an orthodontist at the age of 7 if a problem is detected by parents, the family dentist, or the child's physician. Early interceptive treatment may be indicated for a child to help avoid serious dental or facial problems in the future. Many other orthodontic cases are started once most or all of the adult teeth have erupted, usually between the ages of 10-13 in both boys and girls.
Adults can also benefit from orthodontic treatment, as it not only improves the appearance of the teeth but also promotes overall oral health. We offer a variety of treatment options for adults, including Invisalign, which allows for discreet and comfortable orthodontic treatment.

We use the latest technology and techniques to gently move teeth into their optimal position. We use custom-made braces and wires to apply controlled forces to the teeth, gradually shifting them into the desired position.

We offer a variety of braces, including traditional metal braces, clear ceramic braces, and self-ligating braces. We will work with you to determine the best option for your orthodontic needs and goals.

Invisalign is a popular alternative to traditional braces for adults and teens. It uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gently move teeth into the desired position.
