Come Stay A While and Experience the Best of Port Dover

The Erie Beach Hotel is a long-standing Port Dover tradition, proudly serving the community since 1946. Our hotel and restaurant have been family-owned and operated for four generations, and we take great pride in continuing the legacy of our great-grandparents. From our humble beginnings as a 60-room summer resort to our current status as a beloved local institution, we have always been committed to providing exceptional service, delicious food, and cozy accommodations to our guests.

Our History

Our story began in 1946, when Harold and Marjorie Schneider bought the hotel and started serving their famous home-cooked meals. Their son Tony and his wife Betty took over the hotel in the early 1970s, expanding the dining area and adding more seating. In 2000, Tony and Betty's son Andrew and his wife Pam took the reins, continuing the family tradition and making improvements to the hotel, including the addition of the breathtaking rooftop Perch Patio.

About Port Dover

Port Dover is a charming town on the north shore of Lake Erie, rich in history and natural beauty. Our picturesque port was once the home of the world's largest fresh water fishing fleet, and today, tourism is our main industry. We are famous for our 'Friday the 13th' motorcycle event, which takes place whenever a Friday the 13th falls on the calendar. We also have live theatre, a harbour museum, and a range of unique shops and services.
