Our Rich History
Our Victorian home has been a cherished part of Minden's history for over 150 years, with the original main house constructed in 1866. Over the years, several owners have added their touches, from the addition built in 1885 by the third owner, Englishman Michael Brown, to the cabins constructed in the 1930s by owners Dick and Laura Kirkwood. In the 1980s, watercolour artist Marion Hill and her husband Stan renamed the property "Minden House, " which we are proud to continue operating today.

Minden House Cottages is ideally situated in the heart of the Haliburton Highlands, offering easy access to Algonquin, Muskoka, and the Kawarthas. Our cottages are perfect for:

Our Cottages
Minden House Cottages offers five fully equipped, self-catering, and pet-friendly (dogs only) cottages featuring river view and access, with ample parking. All cottages include:

Each cottage offers a unique layout and features:
- Primrose: A small, open-concept cottage with a queen bed.
- Marigold: A spacious two-bedroom cottage with a queen bed and two twin beds.
- Pines: A cozy two-bedroom cottage with a queen bed and two twin beds.
- Tamarack: A medium-sized two-bedroom cottage with a queen and twin bed.
- Willows: Our largest cottage, featuring two bedrooms with queen beds and a loft with two twin beds.
Seasons and Attractions
Each season brings its unique beauty to the Haliburton Highlands. The fall season is particularly popular for touring and taking in the exquisite colours. Our cottages are a short drive away from attractions like the Haliburton Forest with Wolf Centre and Walk in the Clouds canopy tour, Haliburton School of the Arts, and Minden Whitewater Preserve.
