With over 40 years of experience in jewelry design and manufacture, Boris has a deep understanding of gems and gem materials gained through hands-on experience and has apprenticed with some of the most prestigious jewelry designers in the industry, including Nicky Senater and Bill Hedwig. Boris's passion for jewelry design and manufacture has led him to publish eight unique gem cut designs, with one of his gem cuts, CLOSE TO PERFECTION, chosen as one of the 12 best in the world in 1993.

Workshops

Our workshops are available for groups of up to seven people, as well as private lessons, and we offer discounts to students studying Jewelry Arts in an accredited college.
Appraisal
If you have a piece of jewelry that you want to appraise, our team of experts can provide you with an accurate valuation. We understand the importance of accurate appraisal, and we take great care to ensure that our valuations are thorough and reliable. In order to provide an accurate valuation, we require the physical submission of the piece, as valuations cannot be done at a distance.
Jewelry Repair

From re-tipping and prongs to stone setting and chain repair, we can repair most any jewelry or watch problem you might have. Our team of skilled craftsmen have many years of experience in jewelry repair and are dedicated to providing high-quality repair services at affordable rates.
Antique Jewelry
If you have antique pieces of jewelry that you are interested in selling, we are happy to help. We are open to purchasing items ranging from single pieces of jewelry to entire estates. If we are not interested in purchasing an item, we may offer to broker a sale for you through our online store.
Our Story
Artistic Jewelry Design was founded in 1983 by Boris Kolodny, who has spent many years honing his skills as a gemologist and jewelry designer. Boris's passion for jewelry design and manufacture has led him to publish eight unique gem cut designs, with one of his gem cuts, CLOSE TO PERFECTION, chosen as one of the 12 best in the world in 1993. Throughout his career, Boris has been inspired by many sources, including Valery Varemzaiden, an avant-garde sculptor and jeweler in Israel, and Bill Helwig, a master of the Grisaille method of enameling.
