Bunker T A Surveying

T.A. Bunker Surveying Limited is a professional surveying firm that has been providing geospatial solutions to clients in the Districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound, the County of Haliburton, and beyond since 1988. With a team of three Professional Surveyors, we have completed projects in various locations across Ontario, including Kingston, Sudbury, Owen Sound, and Toronto. The firm's history dates back to 1988 when Thomas (Tom) A. Bunker, O.L.S., C.L.S., P. Eng., established it in Goodwood, Ontario. In 1989, Tom created Landinfo Technologies Inc. (LTI) in anticipation of a collaborative GIS project involving several firms across the province. LTI's early acquisitions included the land surveying business formed in 1974 as Martin Kupferschmidt Ltd., which operated in Gravenhurst.

Initially managed from Goodwood, Tom moved his family to Muskoka to better supervise the active firm. T.A. Bunker Surveying Limited acquired the Muskoka survey records of R. C. Stewart, O.L.S., after his retirement from the position as local Land Registrar and the records of H. E. Gustafsson, O.L.S., after his demise. In 1996, T.A. Bunker Surveying Limited acquired the survey records of the deceased Bart Tompsett, O.L.S., covering the period from 1963 and including historical Muskoka records of H. Olafson, O.L.S., and S. Nicholson, O.L.S. In 2002, Tom was joined at the firm by his son Timothy (Tim) A. Bunker, H. B. Comm., who left a career in computer support and obtained his professional survey commission as a C.L.S. in 2013. Tim was followed by Tom's brother Christopher (Chris) D. Bunker, B. Math, who was licensed as C.L.S. and O.L.S. in 2011. Today, our team includes Tom, Chris, Tim, and Paul Francis, O.L.S.

T.A. Bunker Surveying Limited offers a wide range of survey and geomatics services, including project consulting, cadastral surveys, planning applications, plans of condominium, and building permit sketches. We have a solid foundation and offer historical records research while being a modern firm with newer surveys available as digital files. Our survey services include:

• Reference Plans: These plans outline the boundaries of a property and are typically used when dealing with municipalities, utilities, and other authorities. They are essential for defining the spatial extent of a piece of land and are often used in the development or subdivision process.
• Surveyor's Real Property Reports (SRPRs): An SRPR determines boundaries and identifies possible conflicts with adjoining owners. It involves a title search and ensures that your mortgage will proceed without delays. Additionally, an SRPR verifies that pertinent fences, trees, buildings, gardens, walkways, and swimming pools are within legal boundaries.
• Plans of Subdivision/Condo: These plans are used for the subdivision or condominium development process. They outline the boundaries and layout of individual lots, blocks, and units in a proposed development.
• Topographic Survey Plans: These plans depict the natural and man-made features of a piece of land, including elevations, contours, vegetation, buildings, and other improvements. They are commonly used for engineering, land planning, and environmental assessments.
• Plan of Survey: This plan provides detailed information about the boundaries and dimensions of a property and is typically used for legal purposes.
• Historical Records Research: We have access to historical survey records, allowing us to provide context and background for properties and projects.
