Curious about our name? The "kalesa" is a horse-drawn carriage that was introduced in the Philippines during the 18th century Spanish colonial period. It was a symbol of luxury and status, used exclusively by the most affluent members of society. At Kalesa Travel, we strive to uphold the same standard of service that kalesas represented, providing personalized and friendly service to our clients at the most competitive prices.
Founded in 2012, Kalesa Travel has been serving Surrey and the Filipino community of the Lower Mainland for ten years. We are a small agency, which means that we are able to dedicate more time to each client and provide a more personalized experience. Our clients are our family, and we are committed to getting you to your destination, no matter where it may be.
Our Team
*Eleanor, Founder*: Eleanor is the founder of Kalesa Travel. She graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology and University of Santo Tomas in Manila, before acquiring her Tourism Diploma at the Travel & Tourism Institute in Vancouver, BC. With over 20 years of experience in the travel industry, banking, and sales, she founded Kalesa International Tours and Travel Inc. in 2012.
*Kermeth, Travel Consultant*: Kermeth is a graduate of the Travel and Tourism program in 2015 and has been working with us since. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her puppy, Chowder!
*Jermaine, Travel/Accounts*: Jermaine joined us in 2014. She is also a Registered Nurse and enjoys traveling in her free time.
*Richelle, Office Manager*: Richelle has been working as an administrative assistant and office manager at Kalesa Travel since 2013. She recently completed her degree in Population and Quantitative Health at SFU. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her two kids, her two cats, and her puppy.

Staff and Service
The staff and owner of the travel agency are commended for being very accommodating and taking the time to understand customers' requirements.
Pricing and Transparency
However, there are concerns about the transparency and consistency of pricing. One customer had a bad experience with two different agents providing different prices for the same travel date and airline, with a price difference of over $100. Furthermore, the customer was told that the price had increased by $150 after processing their airline ticket and issuing the itinerary, despite having provided credit card information for final payment just minutes earlier.
