Our Services
We offer a comprehensive range of services, including all-risk/hazard fire, rescue, and emergency medical services. Our team responds to emergencies, provides fire prevention and mitigation services, and offers educational programs to promote fire safety and disaster preparedness. We also provide ambulance services, Basic First Aid Tips, and locate AEDs for the community.
Our Commitment
Our mission is to provide exceptional fire protection, emergency medical services, and community education to the residents and visitors of eastern La Plata County and western Archuleta County. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and responsiveness to meet the needs of our community.
Community Involvement
We work closely with the US Forest Service, surrounding fire districts, and other community organizations to protect our community from fire hazards and promote fire safety awareness. We also provide assistance to ranchers and farmers with agriculture and ditch burns, and support grant-funded projects on private property and watershed areas.
Accreditation
We are proud to be the only fire-based organization in Colorado and the smallest agency in the country to hold accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS). This accreditation recognizes our commitment to excellence in emergency medical services and our dedication to providing high-quality patient care.
