Our History

When Central Taxi first started operating in the region over 50 years ago, we began with a small fleet of six taxicabs, operating Plymouths. We quickly established ourselves as a leader in the industry, consolidating other fleets and operating more efficiently as we grew. Today, we operate over 95 full-time taxicabs, making us the dominant fleet in the region. Our brand is one of the most recognizable in the regions where we operate, including St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Fort Erie, Grimsby, Thorold, Lincoln, West Lincoln, and Belleville.

Our Commitment to Technology

We take technology very seriously at Central Taxi, recognizing that it is essential in improving the way we service our customers. Our state-of-the-art dispatch station is linked to each car and equipped with a powerful on-board tablet that features a GPS system and passenger screen display. This investment has resulted in significant improvements in all facets of the taxi industry, including faster and more accurate dispatch services, a sophisticated database for bookings, a driver information system, an interactive passenger information system, and a more secure and convenient processing of credit and direct debit cards.
