Our Services
We offer a variety of services tailored to meet the needs of our students, including:
- Group Classes: We offer regular group classes in Modern Arnis, Kombatan, and other Filipino martial arts. Our classes are designed to be accessible to students of all skill levels, whether you are a beginner or an experienced martial artist.
- Private Lessons: If you prefer one-on-one instruction, we offer private lessons with our experienced instructors. These lessons are customized to meet your individual needs and goals, and can be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you.

- Gradings and Rankings: As you progress in your training, you may have the opportunity to participate in gradings and earn rankings in Modern Arnis and Kombatan. We are affiliated with the World Modern Arnis Alliance (WMAA) and the World Kombatan Federation, which allows our students to participate in international events and competitions.
Our Instructors
Our instructors are highly qualified and experienced in their fields. They are passionate about teaching martial arts and are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all of our students. Our head instructor, Craig Mason, has many years of experience in teaching martial arts and holds high rankings in Modern Arnis and Kombatan. He is a direct student of Grandmaster Remy Amador Presas, Professor Ernesto A. Presas Sr., and Datu Tim Hartman.
Our History
SSOMA was founded in 2000 by Craig Mason, with the goal of providing high-quality instruction in Filipino martial arts in the Sudbury area. Since then, we have grown to become one of the leading schools for Modern Arnis and Kombatan in Canada, and we are proud to have a dedicated community of students.
Our Affiliations
We are affiliated with the World Modern Arnis Alliance (WMAA) and the World Kombatan Federation. These affiliations provide our students with access to international events, competitions, and resources.
Our Facility
Our facility is located at 491 Ester Street in Sudbury, Ontario. We have a spacious training area and a wide range of equipment to support our students' training needs.
