At Little Friends Childcare Centre, we believe that play is the work of childhood. We recognize the value of unstructured learning, allowing children to make choices, experiment, and use hands-on exploration with materials. Our approach is centered around creating a nurturing environment that fosters cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development in each child.

Our Philosophy

We believe that each child is unique, with their own set of strengths and abilities. We regard each child with respect and try to foster their unique qualities by giving them the respect they deserve. We strive to create a physically safe, cognitively challenging, and emotionally nurturing environment that allows children to make their own choices and explore. We believe that children learn best when allowed to make their own choices and explore, and we believe that "work" is not just playing with toys, but working.

Our Programs

At Little Friends Childcare Centre, we offer programs for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. Our educators are passionate about guiding and supporting the development of each child. We have a dedicated team of eight Licensed Early Childhood Educators, many of whom have been with us for almost a decade. We strive to find passionate individuals who share our philosophy and approach to childcare.

Our Services

Our services include:

• Language and Learning: Our educators provide an environment rich with stories, songs, finger plays, rhymes, music, and movement. We also incorporate learning toys and activities that promote language and cognitive development.

• Art and Sensory: We believe in "the process not the product." Our children have access to a variety of art materials, including paint, markers, and playdough, and are encouraged to explore and create without restriction.

• Outdoor Activities: Our large, beautiful property provides ample opportunities for outdoor play and exploration. We believe that the outdoors is an extension of our playroom, and we encourage children to engage in activities such as running, climbing, digging, and exploring.

Meet our Team

Our team includes Owner/Director Tracy Paquin, ECE Cert & I/T Diploma. Tracy has been an Early Childhood Educator and part owner of Little Friends since 2001. She loves to play and implement learning environments for children and capture their expressions in photographs. Tracy also enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children.

We also have Owner/Director Kim Sinclair, ECE Cert & I/T Diploma. Kim has been caring for infants and toddlers since 2001 and is known for her huge heart and loving approach to childcare. Kim loves to read, sing, and snuggle children all day long.

Our Facilities

Our facilities are located at 40 High Street, Victoria, BC V8z 5c7. We are a fully licensed group childcare facility and employ dedicated and qualified educators.
