The Art For Healing Foundation

The Art for Healing Foundation is a non-profit organization that transforms hospitals and other healthcare institutions into inspiring, welcoming spaces through art. Since 2002, we have installed over 14,500 works of art in more than a hundred institutions across Canada, Nunavik, France, and England. Our mission is to bring the healing power of art to these institutions, creating environments that foster hope and serenity for patients, their families, and healthcare providers.

Our History

The Art for Healing Foundation was founded on the belief that art has the power to heal. Over the past two decades, we have witnessed the transformative impact of art on healthcare institutions and the people who use them. Our work has been recognized with several awards, including the prestigious Meritorious Service Decorations (Civil Division) from the Governor General of Canada in 2024.

Our Approach

We believe that art has the power to inspire connections, hope, sharing, beauty, and serenity in healthcare institutions. Our approach goes beyond art donations, as we are actively involved in searching for, transporting, selecting, and installing artwork with a collaborative spirit. Our dedicated curation has allowed us to develop unique know-how that has created a positive impact in the healthcare community.

Artists and Collectors

We collaborate with artists and art collectors to showcase their artwork in permanent exhibition spaces in healthcare institutions. Our team works closely with each artist and collector to ensure that their artwork is displayed in a way that respects their vision and intent, while also providing maximum benefit to the healthcare institution and its users.

Healthcare Institutions

We work closely with each healthcare institution to select artwork that will brighten the premises and patients' daily lives. Our team oversees each installation, ensuring that the artwork is displayed in a way that maximizes its impact and creates a welcoming environment.
