Our Founders
Harris & Brun was founded by Lyle G. Harris, K.C. and Robert C. Brun, K.C. on July 1, 1984. Lyle was called to the Bar in 1976 and was appointed a Queen's Counsel on December 11, 2009 (King's Counsel as of September 8, 2022). He has conducted over one hundred civil trials and appeals and has been accepted as an expert witness by the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Lyle is the author of Discovery Practice in British Columbia and has drafted an annual update since its initial publication in 2009 by Continuing Legal Education British Columbia. In 2016, Lyle was recognized by CLEBC as a prolific contributor to legal education with over 50 contributions.
Robert was called to the Bar in 1978 and was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 2004 (King's Counsel as of September 8, 2022). He has conducted over a hundred trials and appeals and has successfully appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a leading expert in the application of the statutory worker-worker bar under the Workers Compensation Act. He has been accepted as an expert witness and his opinions on the standard of care of lawyers in malpractice cases have been relied upon in the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Robert has served our profession as a Bencher to the Law Society of British Columbia and has held several leadership capacities throughout the Canadian Bar Association, including as National President from 2012-2013. Robert was recently recognized by CLEBC as a prolific contributor to legal education with over 60 contributions.

Colton Winiarski advises and represents clients in insurance and construction litigation matters. He brings a unique perspective to his practice, having gained business experience managing operations on commercial and residential construction projects. Colton holds a Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
Darcy Evans joined Harris & Brun as a lawyer in June 2020 after completing her articles at the firm under the guidance of our senior counsel. Darcy advises and represents clients in matters including insurance defence, personal injury litigation, and professional regulation.
Graham Hardy has experience in personal injury, corporate commercial, tax, and family law. Currently, Graham's practice is focused on insurance defence and plaintiff personal injury work. He has earned a reputation for hard work, commitment, and creative and effective legal solutions.
Jai Singh Sheikhupura is a seasoned insurance defence counsel with experience handling complex personal injury claims, including traumatic brain injuries, chronic pain, orthopedic and psychiatric injuries. He also has experience in immigration law, civil and commercial litigation, and has represented clients in the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
Jennifer J.L. Brun, K.C. is a lawyer and director of Harris & Brun Law Corporation. She was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 2021 and became a King's Counsel as of September 8, 2022. Jennifer's practice focuses on civil litigation and professional regulation. She regularly appears as counsel in complex commercial litigation and professional regulation matters.
Kelly Burns is a litigator with a focus on insurance law, motor vehicle accidents, and bodily injury disputes. She regularly handles cases involving soft tissue injuries, chronic pain, brain injuries, psychological conditions, and orthopaedic fractures. Kelly brings a diversity of litigation experience to her practice.
