Our History and Beginnings

Tayside Community Options was born in 1989 when a dedicated group of local residents recognized the need for quality care and support services for individuals with developmental disabilities in their community. From humble beginnings, renting a home on Christie Lake Road, Tayside has grown into a reputable organization with a diverse range of services and dedicated staff.

Our Services

Tayside Community Options offers a comprehensive array of services to support individuals with developmental disabilities, children, and their families. We are committed to empowering our clients to live independently and reach their full potential. Our services include:

Supporting children and families

• Child care: Before and after school care, Toddlers & Preschoolers program, Ready2Learn program for kindergarteners.
• Developmental services: Supporting Independent Living program to assist individuals with daily living skills.

Supporting adults

• Homes Support Services: Personal assistance with daily living activities and support in maintaining independence.
• Housing Services: Affordable housing options for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Community & Advocacy

• Registered charity providing accessible services and information to the community.
• Involvement in local schools and initiatives.
