The History of The Siding Cafe
The Siding was built in 1915 and has been a part of Yoho National Park history ever since. It has served as a home, a ham radio hot spot, a grocery store, and a cafe. The shop and cafe were founded by our family in 1991, and today, the Cafe continues to be run by the Renaud/Hedges family. We are a proud family business, and our employees are mostly Field locals.

At The Siding Cafe, we offer a range of delicious bowls that cater to all tastes. Our Buddha Bowl features tomato, cilantro, garlic, coconut stew with prawns, spinach, and carrots over brown basmati rice. Our Rice Bowl is a vegetarian option that includes tofu, shredded red cabbage and carrots, spinach, pea shoots, toasted almonds, and tahini dressing over brown basmati rice. Our Mediterranean Chicken Bowl features braised chicken thigh in white wine sauce with prunes and dates, green olives, capers, parsley, and brown basmati rice.
Paninis and Sandwiches
Our paninis come with soup or salad and include options such as Keith's Creation, which features moroccan spiced chicken, bacon, aged cheddar, banana peppers, and chipotle mayo. Our Vaseux Flavor Matrix panini features roast beef, bacon, spinach, aged cheddar, blueberry horseradish aioli, and sauerkraut. For vegetarians, we offer a house-made black bean and carrot burger with basil mayo, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and an onion bun. Our pulled pork sandwich is a fan favorite and includes slow roasted pork, house-made BBQ sauce, aged cheddar, banana peppers, and a pretzel bun.
