The P.E.I. Federation of Agriculture (PEIFA) stands as a united voice for Island producers, representing over 80% of registered farmers across all commodities. We advocate for policies and programs that support the sustainability and competitiveness of family farms.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower Island farmers to thrive through strong advocacy, relevant programs, and valuable services. We work collaboratively to address critical issues facing agriculture, ensuring the viability and growth of the industry.

What We Do

PEIFA tackles a wide range of concerns affecting Island farmers, including:

1. Policy & Advocacy

• Monitoring and influencing legislation and regulations that impact agriculture.
• Advocating for improved access to finance, technology and safety net programs.
• Promoting sustainable land and resource management practices.

2. Programs & Services

• Providing targeted workshops and training programs on relevant topics like farm safety, environmental management and financial planning.
• Delivering the Enhanced Environmental Farm Plan (EEFP) program, supporting farmers in implementing sustainable practices.
• Developing and disseminating valuable market information and resources.

3. Communication & Representation

• Connecting farmers with relevant government agencies and industry stakeholders.
• Facilitating communication and collaboration between farmers through newsletters, events, and social media.
• Representing Island agriculture at local, regional, and national forums.
