At the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO), we are dedicated to promoting the profession of interior design in Ontario, Canada. Our mission is to advance the interior design profession, support our members, and protect the public's health, safety, and well-being. We represent over 4,000 registered interior designers across the province, who strive to create functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe interior environments.

As the professional body for interior designers in Ontario, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of education, experience, and ethics in the profession. Our members are highly trained and skilled professionals who have demonstrated expertise in areas such as space planning, lighting design, acoustics, and ergonomics.

Our Services

ARIDO offers a range of services to support our members, the public, and the interior design profession as a whole. These include:

• Providing resources and support for interior designers, including education and professional development opportunities, networking events, and access to industry news and trends.
• Advocating for the profession and promoting the value of interior design to the public, government, and industry stakeholders.
• Maintaining a registry of registered interior designers in Ontario, ensuring that those who practice in the province meet the necessary education, experience, and ethics requirements.
• Providing resources and guidance for the public, including a directory of registered interior designers, FAQs about interior design, and information on how to file a complaint.
• Developing and implementing standards and guidelines for the interior design profession, including the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
• Recognizing excellence in the profession through the ARIDO Awards program, which celebrates outstanding projects and designs by registered interior designers.

Our History

ARIDO has a rich history dating back to 1934, when it was established as a non-profit organization to promote the interior design profession in Ontario. Over the years, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of the profession and the public, always staying true to our core values of excellence, integrity, and service.
