Our Global Presence

The Thyssen Mining Group of Companies is a leading worldwide team providing full-service underground development and mining contracting. Our history in North America began in the 1960s when the Thyssen business in Germany exported its knowledge of shaft sinking and ground freezing to Canada to service the potash industry in Saskatchewan. Over the years, we have expanded our operations to the western United States, particularly in the gold sector and particularly in Nevada. Today, Thyssen Mining Inc. ("TMI") is a subsidiary of TMCC, operating as a leading underground mining contractor in the region.

We partner with other members of the Thyssen group, bringing a wealth of expertise and equipment manufacturing resources depending on the location and scope of our projects. Thyssen Schachtbau GmbH, based in Germany, provides a full range of underground mining, contracting, engineering, and manufacturing services. CMAC-Thyssen Mining Group, based in Val-d'Or, Quebec, offers a range of services including conventional and freeze shaft sinking, precise drilling and blasting, cementation, and fully mechanized shaft boring. Our partnerships enable us to provide comprehensive solutions to our clients, leveraging the strengths of our global network.
