At Downs and Son Funeral Home, we are proud to be a part of the Hepworth community, serving families with care, compassion, and respect for over 100 years. Our funeral home was originally established in 1907 by Edward J. Downs, and after three generations of management, the ownership transferred to Brenda Scott in June 2013. Brenda continues to operate the facility with the same tradition of compassion, honour, and integrity that was established by the Downs family.

Our History

Downs and Son Funeral Home has a rich history that dates back to 1907, when Edward J. Downs founded the funeral home. Over the years, the funeral home has been owned and operated by three generations of the Downs family, each of whom has brought their own unique skills and values to the business. In June 2013, Brenda Scott took over the ownership of the funeral home, continuing the tradition of compassion, honour, and integrity that was established by the Downs family.

Our Facilities

Our funeral home is conveniently located at 145 Queen Street West in Hepworth, Ontario. Our facilities are designed to provide a comfortable and calming environment for families to gather and pay their respects to their loved ones. We have a variety of spaces available for visitations, funeral ceremonies, and other memorial services, and we are happy to work with you to choose the space that best suits your needs.
