Who We Are
At Options Family Wellness Addiction Center, we are a private, residential alcohol and drug recovery facility located in Kelowna, British Columbia. Our mission is to provide a safe, respectful, and loving environment for individuals struggling with addiction to begin their journey to recovery. We understand that addiction is a chronic disease that affects not only the individual but also their loved ones, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way.
Our Services
Our treatment program is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy combined with an introduction to Twelve Step programs. We emphasize education about the disease of addiction and relapse prevention. Our experienced and compassionate staff, many of whom are in long-term recovery from drugs and alcohol, provide personalized support and care to each client. We offer a variety of amenities, including private rooms with ensuite bathrooms, nutritious meals, and a unique recovery-based yoga program to cater to the mind, body, and spirit.
Trauma-Informed Care
At Options, our counselors are skilled and trained in trauma-informed practice. We understand that many individuals struggling with addiction have experienced trauma, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), childhood trauma, or other forms of trauma. Our treatment approach takes into account the complex relationship between trauma and addiction, and we provide a compassionate and understanding environment for individuals to process their trauma and work towards recovery.
Process Addictions
We also treat process addictions, such as shopping, gambling, working, food, sex, and video gaming. Our approach is compassionate and understanding, acknowledging that addiction can take many forms and that recovery is possible.
Ceremonial and Spiritual Practices
We believe in the importance of spiritual growth and healing in the recovery process. That's why we have introduced a Sweat Lodge ceremony as part of our treatment program. This ceremony is steeped in spiritual significance and is designed to promote inner peace, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to oneself and the world.
Giving Back
As part of our commitment to giving back to the community, we have partnered with other organizations to provide free addictions treatment packages to those in need.

Lack of Support and Guidance
Some reviewers felt that Options did not provide sufficient support and guidance during their stay. Em mentioned that the staff was never available to provide one-on-one counseling or respond to phone calls, leaving guests to figure things out on their own. L. W. Konge and Archie Wutzke also expressed concerns about the lack of communication and guidance from the staff, feeling abandoned and isolated.
