Our Mission

The Alberni Valley Minor Hockey Association (AVMHA) fosters the development of hockey skills and promotes the core values of the sport - teamwork, respect, sportsmanship, and fun - in young athletes of all ages. We believe in creating a positive and inclusive environment where players can learn, grow, and build lasting friendships.

Our Programs

We offer a comprehensive range of programs to cater to different levels of play and interests.

Recreational & Competitive Teams

• Players can participate in competitive and recreational leagues starting from the Atom level.
• Younger children in Initiation participate in island-wide tournaments.

Development Programs

• First Shift program for young athletes to discover the joy of hockey.
• Referee clinics for aspiring officials to learn the rules and contribute to the game.

Competitive Opportunities

• Opportunities for talented players to try out for Tier 3 Provincial teams.

Community Involvement

• Volunteer opportunities are available for game operations, tournaments, and other events.
