Gingerbread Haus Bakery Ltd. is a family-owned and operated bakery that has been serving the Halifax community since 1999. Our bakery is known for its exquisite German style buttercream tortes, European pastries, and delicious sourdough breads, all made with the finest ingredients and a lot of love. We take great pride in using locally sourced fruits such as fresh apples and cherries from the Annapolis Valley, ensuring that our customers enjoy the freshest and most flavorful baked goods.

Artisan Breads

At Gingerbread Haus Bakery Ltd., we believe that bread is the staff of life, and we take our role in providing nourishment to our customers very seriously. That's why we offer a wide variety of artisan breads, each made with care and attention to detail. Our sourdough breads are a customer favorite, made with a natural starter that we have been cultivating for over two decades. We also offer rye, whole wheat, and multigrain breads, all of which are made with the finest flours and ingredients.

European Pastries

Our European pastries are a true delight, and we offer a wide variety of mouth-watering options to choose from. Our Almond Horns are made with baked marzipan and roasted almonds, dipped in chocolate for an added touch of decadence. Our Red Coats are a classic Canadian treat, made from scratch with two layers of puff pastry, sour cherries, and vanilla buttercream, rolled in coconut. Our Florentiners are a customer favorite, with caramelized almonds, candied cherries, and candied fruit all dipped in chocolate. We also offer Cream Horns, Apple Strudel, and large/small Gingerbread Men, all of which are sure to delight.

Visiting Us

We are located at 1138 Queen Street in Halifax, and we are open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm, and Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm. We offer in-store purchases of all of our baked goods, and we welcome customers to come in and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of our bakery.
