Since 2001, Polaris Land Surveying has been an industry leader in providing high-quality, cost-effective surveying services. Based in southern Vancouver Island, Salt Spring Island, and Powell River, we are a land surveying firm qualified to practice on both provincial and federal lands. Our business model is structured to allow tailored services to meet our clients' individual needs, with team members assigned to specific projects depending on their location and expertise.

We have a virtual office, with key members of the professional team located throughout our service areas. This allows us to provide services to clients in various locations, including Victoria, Sidney, the Gulf Islands, Duncan, Chemainus, and the Sunshine Coast. We have worked on projects throughout British Columbia, including the Lower Mainland, the Cariboo, the Kootenays, and the Peace River District.

Meet the Polaris Professional Team

Key members of the professional team include Brent Taylor, Jordan Litke, Andrew Christian, Michael Rogers, and Alex Gorelik. Our team of experts is dedicated to providing high-quality services to our clients.

Brent Taylor, BCLS, CLS, is a British Columbia land surveyor and a Canada Lands Surveyor. He has been actively involved in providing land surveying services since 1984 and is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the company's operations.

Jordan Litke, BCLS, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of land surveying. He has a strong background in legal boundaries, topographic surveys, and construction surveys.

Andrew Christian, M.A.Sc., P.Eng., is a professional engineer with a strong background in geomatics engineering. He has extensive experience in the field of land surveying, particularly in the areas of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) surveys and hydrographic surveys.

Michael Rogers, BCLS, has a strong background in legal boundaries, topographic surveys, and construction surveys. He is committed to providing high-quality services to our clients.

Alex Gorelik, M.Sc., is a geomatics engineer with extensive experience in GIS (Geographic Information System) applications, cadastral mapping, and spatial data analysis.

What We Do

At our core, Polaris is a land surveying company. We specialize in the creation and determination of legal boundaries, such as subdivisions and stratas. However, we are much more than boundary experts - we are problem solvers. We provide solutions or answers to all kinds of spatial questions, such as:

• What is the volume of that rock pile?
• Where does a new cell tower need to be to provide service to our community?
• Is it possible to build a driveway to our building site?

We routinely liaise with officials and professionals within government, municipalities, and industry, giving us the knowledge and experience to walk our clients through complicated processes such as building and development permits, rezoning, and Agricultural Land Reserve applications. From simple 2-lot subdivisions and boundary adjustments to complex multi-phase developments, we'll guide our clients right through the process.
