The British Columbia Aviation Museum is a significant attraction on Vancouver Island, located adjacent to Victoria International Airport in North Saanich. The museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of British Columbia's and Western Canada's civil and military aviation. Our mission is to engage visitors in the story of aviation, from its early beginnings to the present day.

Our Collection

Our collection boasts more than 10,000 artifacts, with 40% of them on display, representing the diverse history of aviation in the region. Some of our notable aircraft include the Stinson Reliant SR9-E, Harvard, Republic Seabee, Sea Rover, and Norseman. These aircraft, along with many others, offer visitors a unique glimpse into the evolution of aviation technology.

Displays

In addition to our aircraft, we have a wide range of engines and displays that showcase the progression of aviation in British Columbia. Our exhibits include artifacts from early bush pilots, commercial aviation, and military aviation history. Visitors can also explore the role of women in aviation and the impact of aviation on the region's development.

Restoration and Research

The British Columbia Aviation Museum restoration facility is located next to the Main Display Hangar and is open to the public. Here, visitors can witness the painstaking process of restoring aircraft to their former glory. Our restoration team is dedicated to preserving the history and authenticity of each aircraft.

The museum also conducts research on aviation history in British Columbia. We welcome visitors to sign up for updates on our latest research projects and exhibit developments.

Visiting the Museum

The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day. Admission prices vary for adults, seniors, youth, children, and military personnel. We offer discounts for groups of 10 or more.

To get to the museum, visitors can use our convenient directions and parking information. Our gift shop is located in the main entrance and offers a variety of aviation-themed items for purchase.
