Tots n Tikes Childcare Center is a privately owned and operated toddler and preschool center, proudly serving the Niagara Region since 1991. Our center is dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for children aged 18 months to 4 years old. We are licensed by the Ministry of Education, and our team of experienced educators is committed to delivering high-quality programs and care that meet the unique needs of each child.
Our Philosophy and Goals
At Tots n Tikes, we believe that every child is a unique individual, deserving of a sense of belonging and the opportunity to spread their wings and reach new heights. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive and enriching program that promotes a child's growth and development in a non-discriminatory setting. Our mission is to recognize each child as an individual and provide a quality program that fosters self-expression, positive self-image, social interaction, and intellectual growth.
Our Programs
We offer two programs designed to meet the specific needs of toddlers and preschoolers. Our Toddler Room program is designed for children aged 18 months to 30 months, with a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:5. Our Preschool Room program is designed for children aged 2.5 to 4 years old, with a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:8. Both programs offer full-day schedules and are designed to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Our Facility
Our center is conveniently located off the QEW on McLeod Road in Niagara Falls. Our facility is safe and secure, with a certified cook on the premises who prepares healthy, home-cooked meals that meet all requirements of the Canadian Food Guide. Our center features a creative room, preschool reading nook, building shelf, and preschool dramatic play center, all designed to promote learning and exploration. We also have a fully equipped kitchen and a fenced-in backyard where children can engage in outdoor play and activities.
Our Staff
Our team of experienced educators is dedicated to providing high-quality care and education to our children. Our owners, Shannon Baker, Shelley Wiegand, and Tessie Fischer, are all Registered Early Childhood Educators and operators of the center. Our staff is trained in the Co-ordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) Program, which aims to guide children towards a healthy lifestyle through innovative health education and physical activity. Our staff is also trained in First Aid and CPR to ensure the safety and well-being of our children.
Location and Hours
Our center is located at 8055 McLeod Road, Niagara Falls, Ontario, L2H 2Y6. We operate Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm, and are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
