When Do I Need to Replace My Siding?

During our initial meeting with clients, we inspect the current siding conditions to determine what areas need to be replaced. The most common reasons for doing a full or partial replacement include:

• Environmental elements have caused damage in certain areas, and you need to have it fixed before painting the whole house.
• A lifespan of siding has reached its limit (in most cases, it's 20-35 years if no rainscreen was installed)

If washing doesn't solve the issue, people will often ask if they can paint over the siding. The short answer to painting vinyl siding is "no, you can't."
