HARCO Ag Equipment, a leading agricultural and commercial turf wholesaler, was established in 1977 by Jim Harkness. With a vision to provide new and used equipment to businesses, HARCO Ag Equipment gradually expanded its offerings by incorporating wholesale lines. In September 1982, the company was officially incorporated as Jim Harkness Equipment Ltd., with HARCO Ag Equipment registered as the trade name for the wholesale division.

HARCO Ag Equipment is strategically located on Highway #9 between Harriston and Clifford, Ontario, 50 miles north of Highway #401, which is the main east-west artery in the province. The company is situated 1 1/2 hours northwest of Toronto, the largest city in Ontario, 1 hour north of major centers Guelph and Kitchener, 3 1/2 hours from Windsor-Detroit, and 2 1/2 hours from Sarnia-Port Huron, which are the two major border crossing points.
