At Freshcut Downtown, we are a family-run local floral studio, proudly operating in downtown Winnipeg since 1994. Our journey began when Melanie, our founder, fell in love with flowers during her high school days, working part-time in a flower shop. After gaining experience in Edmonton, Melanie and her family ventured to Winnipeg, where they successfully launched the first Freshcut Downtown franchise. Over the years, Melanie has been dedicated to honing her skills, participating in local floral wholesale training, taking design courses in Olds, Alberta, and even experiencing the art of European design in Holland.

As we continued to grow, we realized the importance of embracing our downtown community. In 2010, we transitioned out of the franchise and underwent a rebranding process to become Freshcut Downtown. It was crucial for us to reflect our downtown roots in our name and invest in the local community. Our commitment to downtown Winnipeg led us to join the Downtown Biz Board, where we actively participate and support young entrepreneurs.
