At Blueprint Design, we pride ourselves on being a comprehensive architectural design firm that provides expert services for new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects. With over 29 years of experience, our team has completed over 950 design projects primarily in the Bow Valley, as well as in other areas of Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. Our clients come from across Canada, the United States, the UK, Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Europe.

Our Expertise

Our principal designer, Louis Desroches, has over 29 years of experience in the field. He has worked on a wide range of projects, from multi-million dollar homes to small commercial and industrial buildings. Louis has also worked on contract for a local structural engineering firm, providing AutoCAD support, field support, construction administration, and project management services.

In addition to his design experience, Louis has also worked with various government agencies, including the Government of Alberta, where he was involved in the Stoney Nakoda DRHP (Disaster Recovery Housing Program) for over three years. This project involved the repair of over 550 flood-affected homes, as well as the construction of 22 replacement homes and 40 interim housing units.

Community Involvement

We are proud members of the planning and design community within the Town of Canmore. Louis has been an active volunteer member of various committees, including the Subdivision & Development Appeal Board, Municipal Planning Commission, and Parks Canada Advisory Development Board. He has also been involved in various community events, such as the Canmore Folk Fest and Canmore Downtown Enhancement Committee.

Awards and Recognition

Throughout his career, Louis has achieved several design awards in the Town of Canmore. He is also a member of the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (Certified Design & Engineering Technologist, since 1989). Our team takes pride in being recognized for our work and commitment to excellence in design and project management.
