At Childhood Connections, we are dedicated to providing services and resources to help children in our community grow and thrive in safe, secure, and healthy environments. Since 1977, our organization has been committed to supporting families and childcare providers in the Okanagan region.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a variety of information and services for families, including access to a listing of quality childcare options, resources to help choose the right child care, assistance in applying for affordable childcare, workshops, group play events, resource library, and the ages and stages questionnaire. We also offer a range of services for childcare providers, including listing on our childcare options page, open job postings, training and workshops, access to the early learning library, and information on a variety of government grants and provincial regulations.
Our Services
We provide a wide range of services and programs for families and childcare providers, including:
- Family Resource Programs, such as Circle of Security and Nobody's Perfect programs
- Ages & Stages Questionnaires, a parent-completed developmental and social-emotional screening tool
- Nourish Families Initiative, providing nourishing meals to vulnerable families and providing them with resources and supports
- Playful Healing, free play therapy for children in financial need who are struggling in their day-to-day life
- Event Childminding, professional child care to entertain and engage the little ones
- Workshops and training opportunities for childcare providers
- Access to a resource library and early learning library
- Information on government grants and provincial regulations
