Art Knapp

Art Knapp has been a cornerstone of Kamloops and surrounding communities since 1972, dedicated to fostering local and global partnerships through horticultural expertise and community initiatives. Founded by Jack and Lenore Hik as a modest operation in Rayleigh, our family-owned business has grown to employ over 60 seasonal staff while maintaining its commitment to personalized service. We specialize in regionally adapted plants, sustainable practices, and comprehensive gardening solutions, operating a 5-acre nursery that supplies trees, shrubs, and specialty plants grown at our Rayleigh homestead. Our environmental stewardship includes on-site recycling, organic pest management, and sourcing local materials to minimize ecological impact.

Through initiatives like the Garden Guru Club loyalty program, we empower customers with exclusive benefits and educational resources. The Bistro at Art Knapp extends our community-focused approach with locally sourced food and beverages. With three generations of the Hik family actively involved, we continue to blend tradition with innovation. Our partnerships with organizations like the Chris Rose Therapy Centre and Foyer de Sion orphanage reflect our dedication to social responsibility. From soil science to plant pharmacy services, we combine technical expertise with practical gardening knowledge. This enduring commitment to quality, sustainability, and community makes Art Knapp a trusted resource for Kamloops residents and beyond.
