History

The company's founder, Ed Penner, is a journeyman carpenter with over 25 years of experience in the building industry. He started the business in 2004 specializing in custom homes and renovations. With the demand for commercial projects on the rise, Ed moved away from residential construction in 2011 to focus solely on commercial steel and wood frame buildings. In 2018, the company diversified again to include the agricultural sector with the purchase of a Zimmerman Arch Rib machine for the construction of potato storages.

Construction Services

EPC provides a range of construction services, including commercial and industrial construction, and agricultural construction. The company has seen demand for general contracting and construction of steel buildings increase in Southern Manitoba and has set up buildings using both pre-engineered steel framing and conventional steel across the province and into Saskatchewan. EPC is a certified steel frame building dealer for U-Build, a division of Behlen Industries, which produces a high-quality product made locally in Manitoba.

EPC is also skilled in the construction of wood-frame buildings, with many completed in Winkler's northeast industrial area over the years. In some cases, a facelift to an existing building is needed to bring it up-to-date or give it a fresh new look, and EPC has the expertise to deliver such projects as well.
