McMichael Canadian Art Collection

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is a unique museum dedicated to the discovery, interpretation, and celebration of Canadian art. Our gallery is situated on 100 acres of stunning parkland in the Kleinburg community, just outside of Toronto. The gallery's permanent collection includes over 6,500 artworks by Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, their contemporaries, and First Nations, Metis, Inuit and contemporary artists who have contribute to the development of Canadian art.

Our Collection

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is home to the most comprehensive collection of works by the Group of Seven, an iconic group of Canadian landscape painters who emerged in the early 20th century. Our collection includes over 200 of their paintings, as well as works by their contemporaries such as Emily Carr, David Milne, and Cornelius Krieghoff. In addition to our Canadian historical collection, we proudly represent over 1,000 Inuit and First Nations artworks, including works by Norval Morrisseau, Daphne Odjig, and Alex Janvier. Our contemporary collection includes works by renowned Canadian artists such as Jean-Paul Riopelle, Joyce Wieland, and Christopher Pratt.
