Enhancing your shopping experience, one unique piece at a time.
For over two decades, Traditions Hand Craft Gallery has been a premier destination for showcasing the finest Saskatchewan fine craft and artwork. Established in 1995, our gallery has been a staple in the province, providing a unique shopping experience for locals and tourists alike. Our commitment to exclusively featuring local artists and artisans is what sets us apart, offering a wide range of mediums, from functional and sculptural pieces in clay, metal, fibre, glass, and wood to mixed media and jewelry.
Our Vision
At Traditions, our vision is simple: to provide a welcoming and inspiring environment where our artists can share their passion and creativity with the community. We strive to enhance your shopping experience, ensuring you walk away with more than just a shopping bag. Our dedicated team is committed to serving our customers with exceptional service, ensuring a memorable visit to our gallery.
A Rich History
Our story began in the mid-nineties, when Sharon Harras, Carol Serediak, and Cheryl Wolfenberg, all skilled weavers, decided to pool their talents to showcase and sell their weaving at local craft sales. After several years of successful shows, they realized that driving to various locations and setting up their booth was becoming tiresome. Thus, they began discussing the idea of opening a permanent shop to promote Saskatchewan crafts and showcase their own weaving. After brainstorming potential names, "Traditions Handcraft Gallery" emerged, reflecting the history and skill required in creating these beautiful pieces.
The Journey Ahead
Over the years, Traditions has undergone changes in ownership. In 2012, husband-and-wife team Thomas and Marnie Archer purchased the gallery from the Saskatchewan Craft Council. After closing for a month to revamp the gallery's look, they dedicated the next two years to showcasing new Saskatchewan artists and promoting local talent. Today, we continue to strive to provide a welcoming environment, celebrating the diversity of Saskatchewan's fine craft and artwork.
