The York Region Law Association (YRLA) is a community-focused professional organization of lawyers dedicated to providing exceptional services and resources to its members and the community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support the legal profession in York Region by providing a platform for lawyers to connect, learn, and grow. We strive to foster a sense of community and camaraderie among our members, while also promoting the highest standards of legal practice.

Our Services

The YRLA offers a wide range of services and resources to its members, including:

• 24/7 access to our comprehensive library, featuring a vast collection of legal texts, journals, and online resources
• Borrowing privileges for office use
• Access to Lexis Advance, Quicklaw, Practical Guidance, and WestlawNext Canada
• Inclusion in our membership directory on our website
• Distribution of professional notices, YRLA notices, and invitations by email
• Reduced-rate continuing professional development (CPD) sessions and in-house Lunch & Learns
• Opportunities to participate in standing committees and contribute to the development of the legal profession in York Region

We also provide resources and information to the public, including:

• A directory of YRLA members, allowing individuals to find a lawyer who meets their specific needs
• General legal information and resources on various practice areas, including family law and self-represented litigants
• Links to external resources, such as 211, a telephone helpline and website that provides information on and referrals to Ontario's community, social, health-related, and government services
