Family Law

We provide legal representation in all aspects of Family Law, from marriage or cohabitation agreements to separations, divorces, support, custody, division of family property, and mobility rights. We recognize that individuals requiring services in Family Law are at a difficult stage in their personal lives. As such, we strive to assist our clients to be better able to move forward in their lives following the breakdown of the relationship.

Immigration Law

Lydia Stam has an established practice in Business and Personal Immigration Law (visitor visas, work permits, temporary and permanent resident status), an area of law unique in Northwestern Ontario. Keeping current on evolving regulations, policies, and requirements, Lydia provides this service to investors, entrepreneurs, resort owners/operators, professionals, and individuals seeking entry into Canada. Lydia also assists individuals needing permission to enter the United States, who might otherwise be blocked by past indiscretions. Lydia also represents clients before the Immigration Appeal Division and the Federal Court of Canada with respect to their ability to remain in or enter Canada.

Real Estate

At Stam Law Office, we represent clients in residential real estate purchases, sales, and refinancing. Our real estate fees are as follows: Residential purchase, with one mortgage $800, plus disbursements and taxes. Residential sale $700, plus disbursements and taxes. Mortgage refinance $500, plus disbursements and taxes. Please contact our office for more detailed information applicable to your real estate transaction.

Wills and Estates

Our office can assist with the drafting of Wills and Powers of Attorney for Property and Personal Care. Our fees for drafting wills and powers of attorney are as follows: Simple Will, Power of Attorney for Property and Power of Attorney for Personal Care for two spouses $600, plus disbursements and taxes. Simple Will for two spouses $500, plus disbursements and taxes. Simple Will, Power of Attorney for Property and Power of Attorney for Personal Care for an individual $400, plus disbursements and taxes. Simple Will for an individual $300, plus disbursements and taxes. We are also able to provide legal advice and assistance with the administration of the estate, as well as various levels of conflicts that may arise.
