About the Founders

Jeff Melo, the Managing Principal at MELO Construction, is the second-generation leader of the company. His father, Jose Melo, started the company in 1973, and Jeff has construction in his blood. He has been involved in the construction industry since he was five years old and has a strong foundation from BCIT, coupled with the mentorship of European craftsmen. Jeff is passionate about providing beautiful and challenging work and takes great joy in seeing his customers happy.

Jose Melo, the founder of MELO Construction, started the company after moving to Vancouver from Portugal. He has an established history of craftsmen, with his father being a foreman at a millwork company and his grandfather involved in carriage building. Although Jose is now retired, his breadth of knowledge, experience, and vision continue to be valued by the company he founded many years ago.
