Our History

A-1 Tires Limited was established in October of 1978 by Frank Atkinson, a local family-owned and operated business that started in a single bay building just outside Truro in Onslow. Over the years, we have grown and expanded our operations to meet the needs of our customers. We expanded into our current location in February 1987, adding two service bays and warehouse space. The following year, we added two more service bays to accommodate light mechanical services to complement our tire sales.

We specialize in the sales and installation of Michelin, BFGoodrich, and Uniroyal passenger and light truck tires, as well as small tires and tubes for ATV, lawn, and garden, and high-speed trailer tires. We also offer retread light truck, medium truck, and industrial tires, as well as original equipment passenger and light truck wheels and custom steel chrome and alloy wheels on special order basis.

In addition to our tire services, we also provide a range of auto repair services, including oil changes, nitrogen tire repair, and more. Our experienced technicians are dedicated to providing you with the highest level of service and ensuring that your vehicle is running safely and efficiently.
