About Our Founder: Jennie E. Painter, MSW

Born out of a desire to empower birthmothers and reshape the traditional adoption process, ARCS founder Jennie Painter, MSW, embarked on a journey that began with a profound encounter with a young woman planning to place her child for adoption. Witnessing the woman's longing for more agency and connection in the process ignited a fire in Jennie, leading to the creation of ARCS: The Open Adoption Centre.

With over three decades of experience in open adoptions, Jennie has actively listened to countless birthmothers, incorporating their heartfelt voices and aspirations into the ARCS philosophy. Her unwavering commitment to creating a respectful and empowering adoption experience sets ARCS apart.

About ARCS: Guiding Open Adoptions in Ontario

ARCS is a small, personalized Private Adoption Service dedicated to facilitating and coordinating open adoptions across Ontario. We adhere to the belief that open adoptions strengthen the connection between birthmothers, adoptive families, and the children they love.

What We Do

Our services encompass the entire open adoption journey, from initial consultations to post-placement support. We provide:

• Open Adoption Intake Sessions: A safe and confidential space for birthmothers to explore their options and preferences.
• Matching and Screening: We meticulously match discerning adoptive families with suitable birthmothers, ensuring a strong connection from the outset.

• Post-Placement Support: We remain available to offer guidance and assistance as families adjust to their new arrangements.
