Our Story
Our transport roots trace back to the 1930s in Friesland, Holland, where our founder, Ed Wiersma's grandfather, operated a fleet of trucks. Unfortunately, the business did not survive World War II, but Ed's passion for trucks never faded. After immigrating to Canada, Ed followed his dream and became a truck driver in 1971. He later bought his own tractor and worked as an owner-operator for various companies. In 1978, Ed established Wiersma Trucking, which has since grown into a reputable transportation company.
Our Services
We offer a range of transportation services, including flatbed and van services to and from the United States and Canada. Our experienced team of CDL drivers, all carrying a DOT medical card, ensure that your goods are transported safely and efficiently. We specialize in hauling flatbed truckload freight to and from USA points from our Kitchener, Ontario home terminal. Our services include local services for flatbed and van in the Southern Ontario region, as well as international services to the United States.
Our Equipment
Our fleet of Kenworth T660 tractors is equipped with the necessary equipment for superior service, including 13-speed manual transmissions, 70-inch sleepers, double bunks, satellite communication, CB radios, and bunk heaters to reduce our carbon footprint.
