Burbank Express was founded in 2005 by eight Manitoba potato growers seeking reliable transportation solutions for their crops. What began as a cooperative with eight trucks and nine employees has grown into Manitoba's leading potato transportation specialist, operating over 70 trucks and trailers. Our 24/7 operations ensure timely deliveries to processing plants across the province, supported by a dedicated team of 60 professionals including drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and safety specialists. In 2021, we expanded our capabilities through the acquisition of Mikes Diesel, a trusted local heavy-duty repair facility serving the transportation industry since the 1980s. Our RPM certification since 2018 demonstrates our commitment to safety excellence, with comprehensive training programs and state-of-the-art equipment maintaining industry-leading standards. We combine cutting-edge technology like GeoTab tracking with personalized service, offering transparent communication and real-time updates to our agricultural clients.

Our custom software solutions optimize scheduling efficiency while our purpose-built live bottom trailers minimize crop damage through controlled unloading and weather protection. As a locally owned and operated business, we maintain deep roots in Manitoba's agricultural community, with our leadership team actively involved in both strategic direction and day-to-day operations. Our expansion to a new facility east of Portage la Prairie positions us to better serve Manitoba's potato producers, combining our original Winkler heritage with modern infrastructure. Through Alans Driving School, we also cultivate the next generation of transportation professionals, offering Class 1 training and MELT courses to sustain our industry's future.
